Biggest Budget Earbud Releases Q3 2026 β€” Verified Launches

Q3 2026 is over. This is what actually launched between July and September, what it costs, and what is still coming β€” checked against manufacturer announcements, not rumors.

🏠 This release tracker is part of our complete guide to the best budget wireless earbuds β€” every model in that guide is one I have tested and can buy today.
➑️ Q3 is closed. This page is now the record of July to September 2026. Everything launching from October 1 onward is tracked on the Q4 2026 budget earbud releases page.

The biggest budget earbud releases of Q3 2026 were not the ones this page originally predicted. When I first published this tracker, it leaned on leaks and assumed product names. Several of those turned out to be wrong, and a few described earbuds that had already been on sale for a year or more.

So I rebuilt it from scratch. Every launch below is tied to a manufacturer announcement or to dated launch coverage from an established audio publication, and each product card lists the sources I used. Where a detail could not be confirmed, I say so instead of guessing.

One more thing, plainly: I have not tested any of the new Q3 launches yet. My hands-on experience is with the 30+ earbuds reviewed elsewhere on this site. For the new models you get verified specifications and what independent reviewers have reported so far β€” not a verdict dressed up as testing.

Correction β€” October 9, 2026. Earlier versions of this article listed a "Soundcore Liberty 5 NC," a "JLab Go Air Sport 2," and a new "Jabra Elite 5" as confirmed Q3 2026 releases. None of those launches happened as described. The article also presented the EarFun Air Pro 4 and Soundcore Sport X20 as upcoming, although both have been on sale since 2024. Those claims have been removed, and the full list of corrections is published below. I apologize for the error.

Second correction β€” October 9, 2026. The first rebuilt version of this page said the CMF Buds Neo was sold in India only. It has been on sale in the US through Amazon at a $24.99 list price since late August 2026. The table, the product card and the FAQ below now say so.

New Models That Went on Sale in Q3 2026

These four are genuinely new products. Each was announced by its maker with a price and was on sale in the US between July 1 and September 30, 2026.

1. Soundcore P42i β€” The Strongest Spec Sheet Under $80

βœ… On sale since July 2026List price $79.99

Anker launched the P42i on July 2, 2026 as the direct successor to the Soundcore P40i. It is the real Soundcore budget story of the quarter. Compared with the P40i, the headline changes are stronger adaptive noise cancelling, newly added LDAC support, and a smaller body β€” Anker says the buds are roughly 14% smaller and the case about 17% smaller.

On paper it is unusually complete for the price: an 11mm driver, Bluetooth 6.1 with multipoint, six microphones, IP55 protection and a case that supports wireless charging. Anker rates the battery at 12 hours per charge and 56 hours with the case, falling to 8.5 and 40 hours with ANC on.

I have not tested it yet. However, early independent coverage is encouraging: budget-audio reviewer Scarbir currently ranks it as his top pick under $100 and rates its noise cancelling well above the pricier Soundcore Liberty 5. One caution is worth noting. LDAC has to be switched on in the app, and at least one early buyer on Anker's own store reported brief LDAC dropouts, so treat high-bitrate stability as unproven for now.

ANCAdaptive, up to 55 dB (Anker's claim)
CodecsLDAC, AAC, SBC
Battery12 h / 56 h (8.5 h / 40 h ANC on)

βœ… What stands out

  • LDAC and adaptive ANC at a $79.99 list price
  • 56-hour total battery claim with wireless charging
  • Smaller than the P40i it replaces
  • Already discounted to $69.99 once since launch

⚠️ What to watch

  • Not yet tested by me
  • Early owner report of LDAC dropouts
  • The 55 dB figure is a manufacturer claim
  • Priced above the P40i it replaces
Best forAndroid users who want LDAC and strong ANC for under $80.
Biggest limitationLDAC stability is unproven, and I have not tested it.
AvailabilityOn sale since July 2026 at a $79.99 list price. Stock varies by colour, so check before buying.
Is the alternative a better buy?Only if you want a pair I have tested: the Liberty 4 NC is the safer choice, and the P40i costs less.

The button above goes to the older P40i, which I have tested β€” not to the new P42i.

2. Nothing Ear (3a) β€” $99 With On-Device Recording

βœ… On sale since July 7, 2026$99 / Β£99 / €99

Nothing announced the Ear (3a) on July 7, 2026, alongside the Phone (4b), and kept the same $99 price as the Ear (a) it replaces. The upgrades are steady rather than dramatic: a larger 12mm driver, Bluetooth 6.0, static spatial audio, an 8-band EQ, and IP54 protection that now covers the case as well as the buds.

The genuinely new idea is storage inside the earbuds. A pinch gesture saves a short clip of whatever you are listening to, and calls can be recorded directly on the buds, then synced to the Nothing X app. Whether that is useful depends entirely on how you work, but it is rare at this price.

⚠️ Before you buy it for call recording: Nothing says call recording is only available in selected regions because of local laws. Its support page asks you to inform everyone on the call before you record and to follow local recording and privacy laws, and notes that an audio notification may play to the other party when recording starts. Check that the feature is offered where you live first.

Battery is rated at 10 hours per charge and 42 hours with the case, or 6 and 25 hours with ANC on. There is still no wireless charging. I reviewed the older Ear (a) on this site, so that is the model my hands-on opinion applies to.

βœ… What stands out

  • Audio capture and call recording on the buds
  • Same $99 price as the model it replaces
  • LDAC plus an 8-band EQ
  • Case is now IP54 rated too

⚠️ What to watch

  • Not yet tested by me
  • Call recording only in selected regions
  • No wireless charging
  • 6 hours with ANC on is modest
  • No India launch date announced
Best forListeners who would use on-device audio capture, or call recording where it is offered.
Biggest limitationSix hours per charge with ANC on, and no wireless charging.
AvailabilityOn sale since July 7, 2026 in the US, UK and Europe at a $99 list price. It was $79 on Nothing's US store on October 9, 2026.
Is the alternative a better buy?Yes, if recording does not matter to you: the Ear (a) was $59 on Nothing's US store the same day.

The button above goes to the older Ear (a), which I have tested β€” not to the new Ear (3a).

3. JLab GO Sport ANC β€” Ear-Hook Sport Buds With ANC at $42.99

βœ… On sale β€” September 2026$42.99 / Β£39.99

This is the real JLab sport launch of the quarter. At IFA 2026 in early September, JLab showed the GO Sport ANC, which takes the existing GO Sport ear-hook design and adds active noise cancelling and spatial audio. It keeps soft, bendable hooks, an IP55 rating and 35 hours of total playtime with the case.

JLab's own spec sheet lists a 10mm dynamic driver, Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint, and SBC and AAC codecs. Battery is rated at 8.5 hours per charge, or 6 hours with ANC on. Launch coverage listed it for mid-September at $42.99, and it was listed at that price with an add-to-cart button on JLab's US store when I checked on October 9, 2026.

A note on water: IP55 means sweat and splash resistance. It is not a swimming rating, and neither of JLab's new sport models this quarter is IP68.

  • ANC in an ear-hook sport design under $45
  • Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint
  • 35-hour total battery claim

⚠️ What to watch

  • Not yet tested by me
  • IP55 only β€” not for swimming
  • SBC and AAC only, no LDAC or aptX
  • Two microphones in total for calls
Best forGym users and runners who want ear hooks and ANC for under $45.
Biggest limitationBasic codecs, and IP55 rules out swimming.
AvailabilityListed at $42.99 on JLab's US store when checked October 9, 2026.
Is the alternative a better buy?If you do not need ANC, the GO Sport+ costs less. For IP68, look at the Soundcore Sport X20.

4. CMF Clip Pro β€” CMF's First Open-Ear Earbuds

βœ… On sale since Aug 15, 2026$99 / Β£79

Announced on August 4 and on sale from August 15 in the US, UK and Japan, the Clip Pro is a clip-on open-ear design. It does not seal your ear canal, so there is no noise cancelling by design β€” you buy this style to stay aware of your surroundings.

CMF pairs a 10.8mm driver with LDAC support, Bluetooth 5.4 with dual-device connection, a voice-pickup sensor plus four microphones for calls, and its Smart Dial on the charging case. Battery is rated at 10 hours per charge and 32.5 hours with the case. The earbuds are rated IP54, but the case is only IPX2, so keep the case out of the rain.

The US list price is $99, with a $79 pre-order offer at launch. Europe followed on September 15, and CMF confirmed it will not be sold in India. If you are new to this style, read my guide on whether open-ear earbuds are worth it first. The trade-offs in bass and isolation are real.

Is the alternative a better buy?Yes, if you commute on noisy transport: sealed ANC earbuds will serve you better.

A Fifth, Ultra-Budget Launch and One Feature Update

The CMF Buds Neo is the fifth new model of the quarter and by far the cheapest. It sits apart from the four above because it reached the US quietly through Amazon, without a US announcement. The JBuds Mini ANC is not new at all: it gained a feature.

CMF Buds Neo β€” Noise Cancelling for $24.99

βœ… On sale since late Aug 2026$24.99 in the US Β· β‚Ή1,999 in India

This is what CMF's mid-August teaser turned out to be. Many outlets, and the earlier version of this page, expected a "Buds Pro 3." Instead, CMF launched the Buds Neo on August 20, 2026 as its cheapest earbuds to date, with sales in India starting August 26 at β‚Ή1,999.

The launch was announced as India-first, and the early coverage called it India-exclusive. That did not last. On August 25, 9to5Google reported the Buds Neo on Amazon in the US at $24.99, shipping the same week. On September 23, SoundGuys recorded its first US price drop, to $21.24. It was not listed on Nothing's own US store when I checked on October 9, 2026, so Amazon is the place to look.

For that money you get a 12.4mm driver, adaptive ANC rated up to 35 dB, Bluetooth 6.0 with dual-device connection, four microphones and a claimed 52 hours with the case. I have not tested it. 9to5Google's hands-on found the sound decent but a little hollow at default settings, better for podcasts than music, and reported weaker connection range than other recent earbuds.

AvailabilityOn Amazon US at a $24.99 list price since late August 2026. Not on Nothing's US store on October 9.
Is the alternative a better buy?If you can spend about $15 more, yes: the CMF Buds Pro 2 adds LDAC and a stronger ANC claim, and I have tested it.

JLab JBuds Mini ANC β€” Not New, But Now With Apple Find My

πŸ”„ Feature update β€” Find My added Sept 2026$42.99

This one needs a clear label: the JBuds Mini ANC is not a new Q3 product. JLab first showed it in January 2026. What changed in Q3 is that the charging case gained official Apple Find My support, announced at IFA in early September. Launch coverage describes it as the first pair outside Apple and Beats to offer native Find My tracking under $100.

JLab's spec sheet lists a 6mm dynamic driver, Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint, SBC and AAC codecs, IP55 protection, ANC and spatial audio. Battery is the price of the tiny size: 7 hours per charge and 25 hours with the case, or 5.5 and 20 hours with ANC on.

The updated range reached European stores at IFA, and coverage gave October 1 for wider US retail. It was listed at $42.99 on JLab's US store when I checked on October 9, 2026. I reviewed the original, non-ANC JBuds Mini on this site, so that is the model my hands-on opinion applies to.

Announced in Q3, Shipping in Q4

The Air Pro 5 now has a live entry on the Q4 2026 budget earbud releases tracker, where its on-sale date and street price will be added once EarFun confirms them.

EarFun Air Pro 5 β€” The One Worth Waiting For

πŸ”Ά Announced Sept 2026 β€” on sale November 2026$89.99

EarFun's next flagship was teased and shown at IFA 2026 in early September, then detailed later in the month. The stated price is $89.99, with availability in November 2026 through EarFun's site and Amazon store in black, white and blue.

The confirmed specifications are 11mm LCP composite drivers, Bluetooth 6.0 with LE Audio and Auracast, LDAC, a six-microphone call system and QuietSmart 4.0 adaptive hybrid ANC. Battery is rated at 12 hours per charge and 54 hours with the case, or 8 and 36 hours with ANC on. SoundGuys also reports support for three simultaneous device connections.

The detail that makes this more than a routine refresh is the ANC work. EarFun says Bose engineers provided acoustic engineering services β€” modeling, tuning and validation. That is a claim to test rather than a result, yet it is the most interesting thing announced in budget audio this quarter. Notably, the launch coverage lists LDAC but does not mention aptX Lossless, which the Air Pro 4 has. If that codec matters to you, wait for the final spec sheet.

Other Q3 2026 Launches Worth Knowing About

These fall outside my usual under-$100 focus, or have limited pricing information, but they shape the market around the budget tier.

  • Apple AirPods 5 β€” announced September 9 and released September 18, 2026. Both versions now include ANC, at $129 and $149 for the wireless-charging case model. Not a budget buy, but it resets what iPhone owners compare cheaper earbuds against.
  • Soundcore Liberty Buds 2 β€” shown around IFA at $130 with Anker's newer chip for call and noise-cancelling performance.
  • Belkin SoundForm Isolate and SoundForm Dot β€” two ANC earbuds unveiled at IFA at Β£39.99 and Β£29.99. Only UK pricing was given in the coverage I checked.
  • Baseus Bowie MC2 NC β€” an open-ear cuff design that adds noise cancelling, at $99.99.

Claims Corrected From the Earlier Version

Readers who saw this page before October 9, 2026 deserve a clear record of what changed. Here is each earlier claim next to what the sources actually show.

Earlier claimWhat the sources show
"Soundcore Liberty 5 NC" confirmed for August 2026 with an 11mm planar-hybrid driver, LC3 and a ~$89 priceNo such launch took place. Anker's product is the Soundcore Liberty 5, released in May 2025 at $129.99, with 9.2mm wool-paper diaphragm drivers, Bluetooth 5.4, LDAC and Adaptive ANC 3.0. Some retailers list that same product as "Liberty 5 NC." Soundcore's real Q3 budget launch was the P42i.
"JLab Go Air Sport 2" confirmed for July 2026 with IP68 and Bluetooth 5.3No July launch took place. "Go Air Sport 2" appears to be a name some European retailers use for JLab's existing GO Sport+, which is IP55 with about 35 hours of playtime. JLab's real Q3 sport launch was the GO Sport ANC, also IP55. Neither is rated for swimming.
"Jabra Elite 5" confirmed for September 2026 with an 8-mic array, IP57 and a ~$99 priceThe Jabra Elite 5 launched in September 2022 at $149.99 with six microphones, Bluetooth 5.2 and IP55. In June 2024, Jabra's parent company GN announced it was winding down the Elite line. There is no new Jabra consumer earbud.
"EarFun Air Pro 4" leaked for August 2026 with a six-driver design and rumored aptX LosslessThe Air Pro 4 has been on sale since August 2024, launched at $89.99. It uses a single 10mm dynamic driver per ear, and aptX Lossless is an official feature, not a rumor. I reviewed it on this site. The real news is the Air Pro 5.
"CMF Buds Pro 3" expected in July or August 2026 with ChatGPT integrationNot launched. CMF's August teaser turned out to be the Buds Neo. Also, the CMF Buds Pro 2 launched in July 2024, not "earlier this year."
"Soundcore Sport X20" expected in August 2026 with a rumored IP68 upgradeThe Sport X20 has been on sale since 2024, and IP68 is its official rating, not a rumor.
New launches cause "10–25%" price drops on older models "almost certainly"I had no data to support that range, so it has been removed. See the FAQ for the one price movement I can actually document.

How I Verified This List

Three launch types, kept apart.

  • New model β€” announced by the maker with a price, and on sale in the US between July 1 and September 30, 2026.
  • Feature update β€” an existing model that gained a notable new capability in Q3.
  • Announced, not shipping β€” price and date confirmed, but not on sale yet.

Where the facts come from. First choice is the manufacturer's own announcement or product page. Second is dated launch coverage from established audio and technology publications. Every card links its sources, with the publication date or the date I checked the page.

Verified facts versus maker's claims. Prices, launch dates, Bluetooth versions, codecs and IP ratings are checked against the sources listed. ANC depth in decibels and battery hours are the manufacturers' own figures. Nobody independent has measured them for this article, and they are labelled as claims throughout.

What is left out. Leaks, supply-chain rumors and "expected" successors are not in the comparison table. If a specification was not stated in my sources, the table shows a dash.

What is and is not tested. The new Q3 models have not been through my hands yet. The buy-now section points to models with a full review on this site, and says so where one is missing. My general process is described on the how we test earbuds page.

Buy New, Buy Proven, or Wait?

Buy one of the new Q3 launches if…

You want the newest feature set and are comfortable relying on early third-party reviews. The Soundcore P42i is the obvious candidate for Android users who want LDAC and strong ANC under $80. Meanwhile, the Nothing Ear (3a) suits anyone who would genuinely use on-device recording.

Buy a proven model if…

You need earbuds this week and prefer a pair with long-term reviews behind it. The EarFun Air Pro 4 and Soundcore Liberty 4 NC remain easy recommendations, and neither became worse because something newer arrived. For more options, my roundup of the best ANC earbuds under $100 covers the tested field.

Wait if…

The EarFun Air Pro 5 is what you actually want. It is only a few weeks away, and November also brings Black Friday pricing on everything else. My Black Friday earbud deals tracker will follow those prices.

People Also Ask

What budget earbuds actually launched in Q3 2026?

Five new models went on sale: the Soundcore P42i (July, $79.99), Nothing Ear (3a) (July 7, $99), CMF Clip Pro (August 15, $99), CMF Buds Neo (late August, $24.99) and JLab GO Sport ANC (September, $42.99). In addition, the existing JLab JBuds Mini ANC gained Apple Find My. The EarFun Air Pro 5 was announced in September but goes on sale in November 2026.

Is there a Soundcore Liberty 5 NC?

Not as a separate 2026 product. Anker sells the Soundcore Liberty 5, released in May 2025 with 9.2mm wool-paper drivers, Bluetooth 5.4, LDAC and Adaptive ANC 3.0. Some retailers label that same model "Liberty 5 NC," which is where the confusion comes from.

Did Jabra release an Elite 5 in 2026?

No. The Jabra Elite 5 came out in September 2022. Jabra's parent company GN announced in June 2024 that it was winding down the Elite consumer earbud line, so no new Elite model launched in 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Q3 2026 budget earbud has the strongest noise cancelling on paper?

By manufacturer claims, the Soundcore P42i leads at up to 55 dB, ahead of the Nothing Ear (3a) at up to 45 dB and the CMF Buds Neo at up to 35 dB, which is the lowest published figure among the models that state one. JLab and EarFun have not published a decibel figure. These numbers come from each brand's own testing and are not directly comparable, so independent reviews matter more.

Are any of the Q3 2026 budget earbuds safe for swimming?

None of the new launches are. The P42i and both JLab models are IP55, while the Nothing Ear (3a) and CMF Clip Pro earbuds are IP54, as is the CMF Buds Neo in its launch coverage. Those ratings cover sweat and splashes only. Even with a higher rating such as IP68, check the manufacturer's own water-use limits first, and remember that Bluetooth signals do not travel well through water.

Do new earbud launches make older models cheaper?

Sometimes, but there is no dependable rule and I will not quote a percentage. The one movement I can document this quarter is on a new model: the Soundcore P42i dropped from $79.99 to $69.99 on Amazon less than two months after launch. Setting a price alert is more reliable than predicting a discount.

Can I buy the CMF Buds Neo in the US?

Yes. It launched in India first, but it has been sold on Amazon in the US at a $24.99 list price since late August 2026, and dropped to about $21 on September 23. It was not listed on Nothing's own US store when I checked on October 9, 2026.

Which Bluetooth version do the new Q3 2026 budget earbuds use?

Most have moved past Bluetooth 5.4. The Soundcore P42i uses Bluetooth 6.1, while the Nothing Ear (3a), CMF Buds Neo, both JLab models and the upcoming EarFun Air Pro 5 use Bluetooth 6.0. Only the CMF Clip Pro stays on 5.4. Bluetooth 5.4 itself is not new in this price tier β€” the EarFun Air Pro 4 has had it since 2024.

Final Verdict: Q3 2026 Budget Earbud Releases

Q3 2026 was a solid quarter rather than a revolutionary one. The clear trend is that features once reserved for $100-plus earbuds β€” LDAC, adaptive ANC, Bluetooth 6.x and multipoint β€” are now standard between $40 and $80. The Soundcore P42i shows that most clearly, and the Nothing Ear (3a) adds the quarter's only truly new idea.

The launch I am most curious about, the EarFun Air Pro 5, does not arrive until November, and its progress is on the Q4 release tracker. I will add hands-on impressions here once I have tested the new models. Until then, every tested recommendation lives in my best budget wireless earbuds guide.
